Michael Raso, AIA, studied Architecture and Engineering at the NSTC, Roger Williams College, University of New Haven, and Yale University. He joined Herbert S Newman and Partners, AIA, PC, in 1975. He was named an Associate in 1985, a Senior Associate in 1990, and a Partner in 1992. He has been licensed in CT since 1990 and was licensed in NY State from 1991 through 2003.

Michael's restoration and renovation work includes Yale University projects at Old Campus; Bingham Hall; Sterling Law Expansions; Central and Sterling Power Plant expansions; Calhoun College Comprehensive Renovation; Renovations to Pierson, Davenport, Jonathan Edwards, Branford and Saybrook Colleges, His award winning design contributions include the Lynn University Library and Assaf buildings; Residence Village at Eastern CT State University; the Jewish Religious Center at Williams College; and the Residence at Round Hill, and Residence Renovations in Stony Creek, New Canaan, Greenwich, Rowayton, Norwalk, Milford, Guilford, Branford, Wallingford, Easton, Weston, New Haven, North Haven, Hamden, Woodbridge, Bethany, Glastonbury, West Hartford, Darien, Berlin, East Haven, and West Haven,  Stamford and New Haven CT

His work on Urban projects includes the Ninth Square Subsidized Housing Buildings and Parking structures; the Parking Structure at the New Haven Train Station; Whitney/Grove Square Mixed Use Development in New Haven; Cutler's Corner in New Haven, and the Eastfield Mall renovation and expansion.

For over ten years, Michael was responsible for managing and administering work in South Florida, including the Lynn University buildings; Seafair restaurant and retail development, Dania Jai Alai, and numerous Custom private residences.

Michael contributed to a significant number of public and private primary and secondary school buildings, additions, and complexes, including the Windsor High School; Darien High School; Nathan Hale and Bear Path Elementary Schools.

Michael has significant experience in custom residential and multi-family residential housing of all types and size. Michael's projects have been the recipient of numerous awards.

Michael's interests beyond architecture includes golf, drawing, photography and  continually enhancing a very large Construction and Design reference library of archaic publications.

We are a small independent firm with large capacity and abilities to produce projects that normally would not be a good fit for a sole prectioner. By keeping overhead to a minimum, hiring support staff, teaming with specialists, draftsmen and, cadd operators, consultants from all fields, we can deliver what few others are able at prices that are very competitive. We staff up when the opportunities rise and create needs, and reduce to minimal size to provide clients with the best services for their budget.
